Since the Wenger line of knives has been discontinued, I still get request for that product. Alas, maybe there is
hope in around about way.
The Swiss Army company of Switerland owns both the Wenger and Victorinox lines of fine knives, made in Switzerlad.
For many years, they have competed until a few years agon when Swiss Army acquired the Wenger company. Both companies
made high quality knives at a reasonable price. However, there was some differences.
The SWIBO line of Wengers were almost always yellow handled. The metal was somewhat harder than what you would find in
the Victorinox line, which meant that they would hold an edge longer, but when sharpening, they would be more difficult to
sharpen. For a comparable knife, the Wengers were usually more expensive more than the equivalent Victorinox. The Wengers
usually quoted blade length in metric, so then when into the US system, there were usually a part of an inch over in blade
length.
What I will try to do is show the closest knife in the Victorinox line to what the equivalent knife would be in the
Wenger system. Many people only want the Wenger line, but that doesn't exist, so finding a great alternative is about as
good as you can get.
